Well, the big day finally arrived!  My last day at the old job and the first day at the new one.

On the last day of my old job, I narrowly averted a shower on a rather chilly day by locking myself in the med room for the last 15 minutes of the shift!!  It's somewhat of a tradition there for anyone working their last day.  I personally helped soak a guy named Glen when he quit last fall.  But THAT was a warm day!

I started the new job on Wednesday, and I think I'll actually be comfortable there.  People actually smile and say things like "Hi"  and  "How are you?"  They even say things like "thanks"  and "could you please?"  No yelling, no slamming doors, they actually seem to recognise me as a human being!  It's been a very pleasant change!

I have my own little office space, with my name on the door, and my own phone with my very own extention.  Oh yeah, I even have a title.  I am the admissions and care coordinator!  Ok, so what that really means is that I'm a working shmuck with a title and I don't have to wear whites!

I really do think I'll like it though.  They allow me a lot of autonomy, and expect me to be self motivated.  Not a problem here, folks!   And here is the best part............. NO WEEKENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Things seem to be coming together.  Home is a rat race, as you would expect it to be with 3 kids under the age of 10, but when they aren't here I sure do miss them!!  Jim seems to be adjusting.  When he isn't extremely tired or extremely busy, he seems to enjoy having them around.

I'm still driving my deer battered little gem, but I have money going into savings every month, and hopefully, before long, I'll be able to replace it.  I just don't see the sense in getting in a hurry about it, as long as the car I have still runs well.  Ok, so it looks like hell, but it runs great!!  Besides, with my new job and all, I'll need something to keep me humble.  Being seen driving around in that thing does the trick!!

Well, it's getting late, so I better get off of this thing and get to bed.  I'll see y'all next time I feel like rambling!
